Someone will always do it cheaper!

There’s always another person or garage that will do it cheaper, but should you use them? what makes you decide on weather to use them or us?

Most customers don’t see whats been done to their car or maybe even know what is what.

This customer recently came to me after using a local independent garage for a few years but wasn’t happy with their ever increasing prices and now needed some work doing to pass their MOT.
The customer took to Facebook to find someone to do the work cheaper.

A ‘Mechanic’ was sourced, no questions on weather they held any qualifications but they looked legit and said they could do it.

One of the jobs they carried out a prior to me seeing the car was a new CV boot securing clip after the vehicle failing the MOT on the CV gaiter insecure,

The customer now very frustrated gave us a call saying they just need the car sorted what ever the cost, on first inspection we noticed the issue straight away, two plastic cable ties had been joined together and attempted to hold the thick rubber CV gaitor, witch it failed to do so.

We cleaned all the excess grease from everything, topped up the gaitor with fresh grease and fitted the correct CV securing clip witch we carry on the van and using the correct tool,
The whole job including the clip was £25 witch apparently was only £10 more than the previous bodge job
